You either love them or you hate them. There really is no in between when it comes to whether you enjoy this type of drink or not. I have not always loved margaritas. In fact, until about 2 years ago, I would avoid them like the plague! I do not know why I did not like them for so many years, but I have a strong inkling that it had something to do with crappy margarita mix somewhere along the way!
There is no arguing that the best and most important part to any margarita is the tequila! If you make it a rule to always choose a clear tequila, instead of those cheap golden colored ones, you will probably survive a night of drinking margaritas. But I can’t promise anything.
The history of Cinco de Mayo or May 5th dates back to 1862 and the Battle of Puebla. It is not a obligatory federal holiday in the United States or in Mexico, but that sure doesn’t mean we don’t celebrate with Mexican food and of course, margaritas! The Mexicans beat the French in an unlikely victory on May 5, 1862, which led to a celebration! And so now we have come to know it as, nothing else much really, EXCEPT for a drinking holiday. That seems to be a common trend amongst us Americans. Any excuse to drink right? I am not a huge fan of drinking, in fact, I would recommend you stay away from alcohol if you have the tendency is be an annoying or mean drunk. (Probably 1/2 the people I know…sorry, love you guys!) No one wants to deal with you if that is the case. AND never, never, ever, ever think it is okay to drink and drive. Because it’s not & you’ll get caught & it will cost you a lot of $ and you’ll feel like an ass when its all said & done.

TV Shows

I think she is adorable & she should do the show.
I didn’t think it would be right if I didn’t have at least one blog post regarding the possibility Ali Fedotowsky being the next ‘Bachelorette’ on ABC’s hit show, “The Bachelorette, which mimics “The Bachelor”, just opposite sexes. It seems to be tradition for ABC to pick a young lady or man from a previous season of the show(s) that got rejected & sent home, but was always a favorite of viewers. Right? Sometimes they find true love, but most of the time they do not. I think that Ali would be a perfect candidate to do the show, but will she leave her job at Facebook to go & tape the show? (I think they have to have at least 6 weeks off to film, but I am not 100% positive about that). I think that she sort of regrets leaving the show & Jake to go back to her job. I think that if she is given the opportunity to sign on with ABC and be the next most famous Bachelorette in the country, she will. Who the heck wouldn’t? I mean think about it, you’re single (duh!), you’re YOUNG & other then your job, what the heck do you have to lose? Nothing. You will travel, travel, travel & have amazing experiences that you will never ever forget. So go for it. You only live once & I think you should really try & remember. No regrets, just lessons learned.

This is probably one of the most popular television shows amongst my girlfriends & I at the moment
I haven’t always watched every season, & I would not consider myself obsessed with the show (well maybe just a little), but it does give me a reason to look forward to the most dreaded day of the week, Monday. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote another blog post regarding Ali Fedotowsky & her decision to leave ‘The Bachelor’ for her job at Facebook. I predicted that Ali would be back. She was, sort of…via telephone, but not in the way that I know many of us viewers were hoping. She blew her chance when she chose her job over the “what could have been…” experience on ‘The Bachelor.”

Oprah Winfrey (yes, of course, OPRAH, who else?), recently started a “No Phone Zone” campaign to get Americans to make a pledge to themselves to NOT talk on the phone or text while they are driving. Distracted driving is an “epidemic that is sweeping through our country, claiming lives & destroying families.”That made me think long & hard about how serious this has become…please take it as serious as I am.
I am totally guilty of talking on the phone, texting, BBMing, checking Facebook statuses religiously & checking Twitter to stay updated with random, useless information, all WHILE driving. I know that it is a horrible habit & that it needs to stop. I want to try and get as many people as I can to sign this pledge & FOLLOW through and be conscious of not being on your phone when you are driving Put your iPhone & Blackberry in your purse & out of reach, so that you are not tempted to grab it. I know that having a cellphone is also a safety measure, but let’s make sure you stay alive, so you can use it if there really is an emergency, not just to check new updates during rush hour traffic.
No one needs to die because you have to check your phone!
