This is probably one of the most popular television shows amongst my girlfriends & I at the moment
I haven’t always watched every season, & I would not consider myself obsessed with the show (well maybe just a little), but it does give me a reason to look forward to the most dreaded day of the week, Monday. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote another blog post regarding Ali Fedotowsky & her decision to leave ‘The Bachelor’ for her job at Facebook. I predicted that Ali would be back. She was, sort of…via telephone, but not in the way that I know many of us viewers were hoping. She blew her chance when she chose her job over the “what could have been…” experience on ‘The Bachelor.”
The Bachelor! Rozlyn, Vienna & Ali…My thoughts & opinions :)
The Valentine Bandit(s?) of Portland, Maine♥
I have spent the past couple of years living in & around Portland, Maine, enjoy my 20s. It is by far my most favorite city ever & as I have come to realize, it seems to get more & more interesting each & every year. Maybe it is because I will soon be approaching 30 & seem to notice a bit more, but there are so many little things that happen in & around Portland that make it unique & truly unlike any other city in America. One of which is the Valentine Bandit which has struck Portland every February 14th since 1976, taping red hearts printed on sheets of white paper all over Portland and even in other nearby cities (I saw a heart taped to the new Westbrook Middle School this year!) People try and guess who it is responsible, but if you ask me, I will tell you that I don’t want to know! That takes all the fun out of it…just relax people & try to think for a minute that maybe there is someone or more than one out there that just wants to put a smile on your face whether you are acting miserable & single or happy & in-love. It can bring you back for a minute & help you to realize what life is all about. LOVE. It is what we are all chasing & don’t try to deny it because it is human nature. It is the ultimate emotion that we can feel & experience as humans (at least I think so) & maybe one of the only pure & true things that still exists on this planet. I guess it is what keeps us going everyday & keeps us together. I do know that the heart is frail & easily broken, but it is wonderfully resilient
Ali Fedotowsky from ‘The Bachelor’ leaves the show for Facebook…Wouldn’t you?
Sooooo I have a little bit of insider knowledge regarding Ali Fedotowsky from ABC’s ‘The Bachelor.’ MY FAV! She works for Facebook. She has to choose between staying on the show, possibly winning the man of her dreams, Jake, OR losing her job at Facebook! I am pretty sure that would be one of the coolest jobs for any young person right out of college, well besides working for Google. But maybe Jake will go through the motions of the show & someday will go back to Ali? I kinda hope so
Ali chooses her job over Jake & decides to go home. As of right now, all we know is that Ali calls Jake during next weeks episode. My guess is ABC made this very dramatic & during the last show shes comes back! ABC has been known to do that before on previous seasons of The Bachelor…right?
I know that the majority of us are hoping Vienna gets sent home & trips and falls on her face on her way out.
It seems as if the show made him keep her to keep the ratings up. Makes sense right? So now all of us hopeless romantics are rooting for the sweet & innocent Tenley, BUT still hoping that we haven’t seen the last of Ali.
Oh & one last thing… maybe Ali can fix the new “simple” layout style that Facebook has bombarded us all with, because we all hate it?
Please check out some more of my thoughts on The Bachelor, Rozlyn & Vienna & Ali.
NO PHONE ZONE – “Honk if you love Jesus, Text if you want to see him.”
Oprah Winfrey (yes, of course, OPRAH, who else?), recently started a “No Phone Zone” campaign to get Americans to make a pledge to themselves to NOT talk on the phone or text while they are driving. Distracted driving is an “epidemic that is sweeping through our country, claiming lives & destroying families.”That made me think long & hard about how serious this has become…please take it as serious as I am.
I am totally guilty of talking on the phone, texting, BBMing, checking Facebook statuses religiously & checking Twitter to stay updated with random, useless information, all WHILE driving. I know that it is a horrible habit & that it needs to stop. I want to try and get as many people as I can to sign this pledge & FOLLOW through and be conscious of not being on your phone when you are driving Put your iPhone & Blackberry in your purse & out of reach, so that you are not tempted to grab it. I know that having a cellphone is also a safety measure, but let’s make sure you stay alive, so you can use it if there really is an emergency, not just to check new updates during rush hour traffic.
