She said “Yes!”
WOW, the past couple of days have been very exciting! Where should I begin? I guess I could go back two and a half years ago to when I met him, but that is quite a long story and those of you who know us know how amusing it is, so I will fast forward to 2 days ago…
We had recently been talking seriously about marriage. I knew that with coming up on 3 years together and a boyfriend who had recently turned 30, we were not far away from an engagement. I just didn’t know it would happen SO soon.
Wednesday morning, June 9, 2010. I am not a morning person. He really does know this, I promise. At about 6:30 AM, he jumped up out of bed. The previous morning he got up at the same time to go for a run, so I didn’t think it was that odd. (We are training for the Beach to Beacon this August… sorta, kinda anyway 
) He didn’t leave for a run, but he was up and about doing something, probably Googling some idea that just popped in his head. He came back to bed and tried to be all cutesy wootsey and I told him I was sleeping and to go away. Haha… I did, so at least I am being honest right? I think he turned on the TV to catch up on the morning news and I continued to lay there, half asleep with Harlow by my side (She is our 1 year old golden retriever, yup, our child). After a while, he bounced back up to head to the shower to get ready for work. Normal. He got ready, took Harlow out, and it seemed as if he was getting ready to walk out the door and go to work. He came to kiss me goodbye and to tell me he hopes I have a great day, like he does everyday. Then he turned around and kneeled down next to the bed and said “Meghann, Will you marry me?” I think that is what he said anyway… He might have said some stuff before that, but I do not remember. I do remember FLYING up out of bed, and being like “WHAT??? REALLY???? YESSS!!!!!” And so the ring went on the finger and I really could not believe it and I still kinda don’t. But I do Then I told him I was sorry for being such a bitch this morning and he laughed and said “It’s ok babe, you’re just not a morning person, but I couldn’t wait any longer because I got your dad’s blessing last night.” How cute? But that is Nate… He was so excited and couldn’t stand it any longer. And it was absolutely perfect. Of course those elaborate engagements are nice and cute, but this was even better. He took the morning off from work. Everyone at work knew what he was up to and he told them he had to do it really randomly because she figures everything out! (And I pretty much do… All the time:)) We went out to brunch and enjoyed the morning together.
The next question everyone has is “SO when are you getting married?” I don’t know for sure yet, but I know we will soon figure it all out. It will be next year, sometime in 2011 and we are looking to get married St. Lucia! So if you have any suggestions, I am more than open ears, so email me. meg111083@yahoo.com
This is such an exciting time of year. We have so many friends that are getting married this summer/fall and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all! SO much love in the air! And I will always remember a piece of advice from an old friend… “Always have patience and always be willing to compromise. It will get you very far.” 
And last, but certainly not least…. The ring!!!! Love, love LOVE it!!!!
