Why I Love Instagram

“Insta what? I have no idea what you are talking about!”… Does this sound somewhat familiar recently? If you use this new photo sharing application then you know how awesome it is and when you hear someone say “Hold on! I need to Instagram this!”, you know that it’s serious photo blogging business and they are part of the Instagram phenomenon.

I love this very quickly popular photo application [currently an estimated 4.25 million users!] because it lets you enhance a photo [or take an existing photo from the phone’s gallery] with filters [you get 11 to choose from], tilt-shift, as well as the option to comment, ‘like’ and instantly share your photos to any/all of your social media accounts. It used to be strictly exclusive to iPhone users [Oh, as if!], but is now available on the web, Mac users and iPads. There are also some Instagram apps for more photo fun that you can find here. You can even get your Instagram photos printed, put into book/scrapbooks… All wicked cool stuff.

I LOVE taking photos and any of you who follow me know that I love sharing photos of my golden retriever, Harlow. [I don't have kids yet, so leave me alone ;) ] It’s so much fun to play with the effects & filters and every photo always ends up so cute! That’s a good reason to love Instagram right? Because every photo comes out cute & beautiful… It’s true though! ;)

We all love photos. Admit it. As soon as your Facebook friends start uploading photos of events or whatever they may be doing, your eyes light right up. Don’t deny it because we know it’s true & it’s OK! That’s what Facebook and all of these social media platforms are for, to share! Sure we are a nosy country of people that love seeing and hearing about what everyone else is up to and how awesome their life looks online. Instagram is here to step up the cool factor and give us something else to be addicted to on our cellphones.

All of my photos on the right side of this page —> are Instagram photos. I don’t have a cool DSLR camera with another huge bag of accessories to haul around with it… YET [it's coming someday soon], but I do have this cool app on my iPhone 4 that has made my spring adventures a little more interesting and fun to share with you all! I hope you all download the free app now & start “Instagram’ing” soon!

What is your favorite Instagram filter to use?
